Refocus Out of the Summer Slump

Hello Managers!

As we wrap up summer, it’s time to get refocused. The end of the year always feels like a sprint, so create a strong foundation of motivation, engagement, and strategic growth to set you and your team up for success. Get out of the summer slump and hit the fall running.

Truvelop Tip: Refocus Out of the Summer Slump

The Summer Slump is a term that refers to the period of time where business slows down throughout the summer months. People go on vacation, summer Fridays give time back to employees, and work just tends to slow down. This time is so important for employees as it encourages a strong work-life balance and gives them a chance to relax and recover.

With that said, once summer is over, it’s time to refocus. As a manager, you can set the tone with your team. Get realigned on goals and major upcoming projects, assess bandwidth for each team member to ensure that you’re optimizing your team’s talent, and establish regular meetings to check-in and adjust as needed.

As you prepare to help your team get refocused and motivated, spend time reviewing Building Motivation and Engagement. With a strong foundation of autonomy, competence, and relatedness, your team can face any challenge thrown their way.
