Did you know that January is National Mentorship Month? Mentoring in the workplace is an established partnership between colleagues for the purposes of learning and growth (Guider). Whether conducted as a 1:1 relationship or in a group, mentoring is a great way to foster development both personally and professionally, all while strengthening relationships in the workplace.
Why is mentoring important?
According to Deloitte, nearly 75% of workers have experienced burnout in the past year. Employees are feeling overworked and undervalued – it’s time to refresh their perspective and show your support for their wellbeing by developing a mentoring relationship with your direct reports.
How to get started?

Once the direction has been set, be sure to schedule follow-up conversations. Show your direct report that their experience is a top priority by making time to explore their learning journey.
