Share Team Goals to Drive Motivation

As we enter Q4, how can you motivate your team to stay focused as we close out 2024? The end of the year is always a blur, so how can you keep your team productive and inspired? As a leader, you can bring your team together through shared goals and clearly outlined sprints. When everyone knows their purpose and the role that they play, they can come to work focused and ready to go.

Truvelop Tip: Share Team Goals to Drive Motivation

Get ahead of the holiday rush by outlining the EOY sprints now. What key initiatives will your team be prioritizing? What support from you can they expect? Who on their team can they lean on if circumstances become too hectic or there are unforeseen challenges? Let’s help our team prepare with some easy action items:

  • Highlight Team Goals: We typically talk a lot about personal professional goals, but sometimes team goals can be the extra motivator that an employee needs. When they see the larger vision and understand how their role impacts that vision, they may feel a renewed sense of purpose and focus.
  • Lean on Your SMEs: SMEs, or Subject Matter Experts, can be any employee who brings something unique to the table. Ask each of your team members to highlight their area of expertise and create a document to break down who specializes in what. When other employees are looking for guidance, now they’ll know who to ask and work with. Added bonus: now employees can collaborate with peers that they may not typically work with, strengthening team morale.
  • Create Standing Meetings: If you don’t already, be sure to have some regularly scheduled time with your team. As work picks up, it can be difficult to create time to check-in with your team. By already having a meeting scheduled, you can ensure that your team feels supported and receives the guidance that they need.

Set yourself up for success now and help your team prepare for the end of year rush! As a leader, your team will look to you for support and guidance, so by highlighting the workflows early, your employees won’t need to second guess themselves and can instead focus on their contributions to the team.
