You may have noticed something different about Group Spark today. Over the weekend, our team pushed out our latest enhancement: Spark Additional Filter. Spark Additional Filter is an additional option to select which end users you want to Spark. Note: You do not have to use the filter if you don’t want to – this is meant to make it easier when selecting a large group of users to Spark (for example, you’re Sparking an entire department or team or all Managers). If you do not wish to use the filter, you can simply disregard the additional filter and Spark as normal (add users from the Add Team Members box).
How Spark Additional Filter Works
To send a Group Spark, first go to the Spark tab from the navigation menu.
From here, you can click on the Add Team Members box and add your Spark recipients as normal, or you can click on Additional Filter to find users from a group.
When you click on Additional Filter, there are several types of filtered groups in the drop-down menu.
Once you have selected the filter type, you can view all groups under this section. Select the group(s) that you’d like to view. On mobile, click Select Team Members once you have selected the roles, departments, teams, or positions.
From here, you can start selecting the users from this group that you’d like to include in your Spark. You can even search for a specific user. If you’re sending a Spark to the entire group, you can just click Select All from the top right corner. Be sure to click Submit once you’ve selected the users you’d like to Spark.
Once you hit Submit, you’re able to see the selected users in the Add Team Members box. Now you’re ready to create your Spark as normal.

Have you noticed anything different about the Truvelop Dashboard? How about the Team Member dashboard? Or even My Dashboard? Throughout Truvelop there are now orange lightbulb icons. These lightbulbs contain quick hit resources and guidance for taking the next step to best develop your team and yourself. In 2 clicks or less, Managers and Team Members can now access targeted resources from our Knowledge Center to best support them on their development journey.
By clicking on the hyperlinks from each lightbulb, you will be taken to a resource from the Truvelop Knowledge Center to help take the guess work out your next steps, provide more in-depth insight into Team Member performance and behaviors, and effortlessly and efficiently strengthen your skills as a leader.
We’ve added additional filters to the Team Member Tab to make it even easier to manage your team. By clicking on the filter icon, you can view specific Team Member Statuses, Manager Actions, or Scores.
In addition to the filter enhancement, we’ve also added more options for what you can view on the Team Member tab itself. Now, you have the ability to view the most recent Manager Action, Score Title, the number of Evaluations completed for the current year (instead of total completed ever), and Trending.
By adding more view options, you can decide what information is most helpful to you for having quick-connect, meaningful development conversations with each of your direct reports.
The other enhancement that has been pushed to production is the ability to share Performance, Attitude, and Maintenance comments during the employee assessment process. Previously, these comments served as only internal notes (not visible to the Team Member), while the General Comment was the only comment that could be shared with the Team Member (visible to the Team Member). You can still leverage the Performance, Attitude, and Maintenance sections as internal notes, but now you’ll have the option to share them directly with the Team Member, meaning they will be visible to the Team Member in their Contextual Reporting under the Comments tab.
To share a comment, simply click the toggle after the section that you’d like to share. The default will be to not share the comment, so be sure to click the toggle to enable sharing the comment.
Sometimes you may be working on an evaluation, but you get interrupted, and you would like to save your progress. Now you can save your evaluation as a Draft and come back to it later to complete or add context in the Comments fields. Please note that you will not be able to edit how you answered the questions, as we do not want to recreate the past. If Send Summary is not configured or enabled (greyed out), the below workflow will not apply.
In some circumstances, you may not be ready to share the evaluation summary with the team member and you would like to meet with that team member first to avoid the evaluation summary coming as a surprise to the team member. Now, you can simply save as Draft and wait to send the evaluation summary to the team member until you have had the conversation. Keep in mind that you will not be able to complete a new Evaluation until you have submitted the Draft.
HOW IT WORKS
Once you have finished answering the questions, you will be required to add a General Comment associated with the evaluation. If you would like to save the evaluation as a draft, click the “Save as Draft” icon at the bottom of the page. This evaluation is now in “Draft” mode.
The second way that you can save the Evaluation as a Draft, is by clicking on Submit when Send Summary is turned on. Once the Manager has submitted the Evaluation, they will see a drop-drown that gives Managers a second chance to decide if they are ready to push the Evaluation to the Team Member. There are three options in this drop down:
WHERE CAN I FIND MY DRAFT EVALUATIONS
You can find your draft evaluations in two places. The Evaluate Team Member tab on the left navigation has an arrow that when you click on it, a submenu for “Evaluation(s) in Draft” appears.
From here, you can find any of your evaluations in Draft mode. Now, you can either “Publish” the evaluation as is, or “Edit” your comments. To publish your evaluation, click on the first icon on the right-hand side of the evaluation draft. Now you will be given the option to Send Email or Do Not Send Email consistent with the previous evaluation workflow.
If you would like to edit or add comments to the draft evaluation, click the pencil icon and edit as needed. This allows you to spend as much time as needed adding context to the Performance, Attitude and Maintenance and General Comments sections. Once completed or updated, click submit and you will be given the option to Send Email or Do Not Send Email consistent with the previous evaluation workflow.
The second place that you can find your Evaluations saved in Draft mode is in the Team Member Dashboard's Contextual Reporting under the Comments tab. From here, you can edit the comments and publish the drafted Evaluation the same way you would in the Evaluation(s) in Draft tab.
SHARING EVALUATION SUMMARIES NOT PREVIOUSLY VISIBLE TO TEAM MEMBERS
To see which evaluation summaries have been shared with team members versus the evaluations completed but not visible to team members, visit the Contextual Reporting tab on the Team Member dashboard. From Contextual Reporting – Comments, look for this icon.
This means the Evaluation Summary has NOT been shared with the team member and therefore is not visible on the team member’s My Dashboard.
If you would like to share this Evaluation Summary now, click on the icon to the right, next to the pencil icon. This will immediately post the Evaluation Summary on the team member’s My Dashboard. They will not receive an email, but the Evaluation Summary will be posted and visible to the team member along with the General Comment.

Access to the Recognition Wall has been upgraded! In addition to accessing the Recognition Wall from the Dashboard selection dropdown, you will also be able to access it from the left-hand navigation menu. In the left-hand menu tab, you will also see a notification number in red, letting you know when someone has been recognized. Staying up to date on opportunities to celebrate our colleagues across the organization is easier than ever!
We’ve adjusted our Reporting Tabs, breaking up our Summary reporting. In one tab, Managers or Team Members will be able to see the Current and Average Evaluation Result. This helps our users to track progress over time and understand where the Team Member is currently performing. The other tab will have the most recent Evaluation result, an Evaluation Insight, and a Trend Status. These analyses help the user to understand where they’re currently performing and what they can be doing to drive their development. By dividing these different reporting tabs, organizations have greater control over what is being viewed and can make decisions that are in alignment with their culture.
We have further enhanced the scoring guidance for Evaluators and Team Members to provide for deeper data driven insights based on evaluation trends and performance patterns. Event-based performance analysis uses qualifiers within the scoring algorithm to flag responses that are indicative of departure risk, developmental needs or other detractors that may be creating a barrier to the team member’s success. Now there are hundreds of insight recommendations available. This enhancement provides even more opportunities for the manager to adopt proactive management strategies and for the team member to focus on individualized development opportunities to promote team member success and engagement.
The Spark real-time feedback feature has been upgraded with Ignite. This feature is meant to ignite conversation when you Spark a team member. Once a manager has sent a Spark to an employee, that employee can now respond to the comments made in that Spark. Managers can also respond to the comments made by an employee, allowing for real-time dialogue and a continuous feedback loop between managers and employees regardless of work location and without the need for a face-to-face conversation.
If an employee responds to a manager’s Spark, the manager will be notified of that response. If a manager replies to the employee’s response, the employee will likewise be notified.
Each Spark is recorded and broken down into current week, current month, and total history. Evaluators can choose the option to leave comments or not.
The newest feature coming to Truvelop is my Wall! The Truvelop Wall provides a social media aspect to the Truvelop app. The effectiveness of a live feed brings instant discussion and information to your company and team members.
To access your Wall, go to your Dashboard.
Then select the My Wall tab at the top of your screen.
The wall reflects a social media feed in functionality and purpose. Team members can comment and react to Recognitions of fellow team members.
The comment button (Circled) can show and hide all comments and display how many comments the recognition has.
To post a Recognition on the Wall, you must be able to Spark team members. Add a new Spark, and when selecting the category, select Recognition. The classification can be whatever is appropriate. The comment will be the text in the post that will be posted on the Wall.
When you’ve finished making your recognition, select Submit.
*SELECTING PUBLIC WILL POST YOUR RECOGNITION ON THE WALL. MAKE SURE TO CHECK THIS BEFORE SUBMITTING
Truvelop now has an even easier way for you to access your account. Single Sign-On (SSO) allows for users with Google email addresses to sign in using their Google accounts.
In order to make SSO accessible, company admins must set Google as the External Provider. To do this, simply go to the Client Profile on the left side of the screen.
Once in the Client Profile, select Google as the External Provider in the “External Provider Details” section at the bottom of the screen.
New coming to Truvelop is Dark Mode! Have you ever wanted a sleeker look to the already fast and easy Truvelop? This is also a very simple change that can be done in seconds! It improves readability of text when in a low light environment, less flicker, less blue light, can save small amounts of electric, and is better for battery life.
First, click you company profile picture in the top right corner. Hovering over the image will a show a small edit button, click it to go to your company profile.
All you need to do is toggle either light or dark. Click submit to save your preferences.
Now your Truvelop app will look like it does below! Dark Mode can be toggled on and off whenever you would like.
More features are being added to Truvelop’s mobile app! Offline mode is now available! The Truvelop app can now be used offline with Android and IOS devices!.
*You can only perform actions you have previously done while online. That means you can't use the spark feature in offline mode if you have never done one on your mobile device before (same goes for logging in, Evaluation, reports, etc)*
When your Truvelop app is in Offline Mode, it will be displayed at the top of your screen. After performing evaluations in offline mode, they will be synced to your app next time you’re online.
A new icon is also added when in offline mode, Offline Sync. This section shows all evaluations that will be synced when your device is online. There is a section for Sparks and evaluations. It will display who performed the evaluation, and who the evaluation is for.
This message will be displayed when you’ve finished any evaluation or Spark.
(A spark being completed in offline mode.)
Offline mode brings convenience and an evolution to Truvelop.
New to Truvelop comes the Survey feature! Have you ever wanted answers from your team members on decisions? The new survey feature is great for that! Truvelop has been making improvements on how to configure your company. Now, when making teams, anyone can be a manager or team member.
Like before, just type the names of where you would like the team members to be configured to your team. Team members cannot also be team managers.
Protection level is a new permission added to the Teams feature of Truvelop. This, like other permissions is located in the “Permissions tab” on the left side of your screen.
Protection level allows data and information to be kept safe, no matter the user. (Team Member, Manager, Executive) There are three different protection levels, low, medium and high. All three protection levels are customizable. This permission overrides any other permission and is the most impactful to team members.
To set an employee’s protection level, go to Team Member list and click the “Edit” icon on the action dropdown.
Once you are on the employee’s profile, you can then select the employee’s protection level in the bottom right hand corner of the “Mandatory Fields” section.
Team Members can also be filtered with our new Advanced Filters. Team members can be filtered by their set dimensions. The filter button is located next to the Column Configuration.
The following pop-up will appear:
This filter great for large team member volume and gives a dynamic experience for our users
Columns on the Team Member page can now be enabled and disabled. This provides a more dynamic user experience with more customization and data insight.
To customize your columns, click the highlighted icon. It's found on the top right corner of the Team Member page
Simply click each checkbox to enable or disable columns on your team member page. Two columns have been added as well, Total Sparks and Last Spark Date.
If team members are currently receiving direct feedback from managers via the "Send Evaluation" or "Send Spark" functionality, they will now be able to receive the same feedback via SMS text messages.
In order to enable this, make sure that the team member's phone number is verified and that they have SMS notifications turned on.
